THE PROJECT

Index Labs are redefining the boundaries between investment experience and gambling. Their product, Football Index, allows players to have a stock exchange experience which is safer and more predictable than financial markets, all while having fun.

(Football Index went into administration in May of 2021 and had to close the web app I've been working on for 4 years. Here are a few links leading to 2 videos of what the app used to look like on the dev environment. The prod site was killed before I had time to record anything from it.)

ANALYSIS & PREPARATION

A Challenging Start (and End...)

As the only Front End dev with React experience at the time I joined, I had to come up with the whole tooling and architecture of the site on my own.

After 6 months there the company started to grow and people joined the project. I had to introduce them to the project and created some classes/exercises to help some of the newcomers to improve their React/JS level enough to be able to contribute to the project.

The following 4 years I spent there I had the opportunity to lead up to 10 people, implement and contribute to the various iterations of the designs and the features together with the POs and designers, making sure everything worked on desktop, tablet and mobile. I created 80-90% of the code and created around 3000 tests that covered around 60% of the app code.
